Setting up spam filtering with Outlook 2000
Go to the 'Tools' menu, and select the 'Rules Wizard' option.
A new window will appear. Press the 'New' button at the top tight, and another new window will appear.
Make sure the 'Check messages when they arrive' line is highlighted in the first box, and press 'Next'.
In the next window, in the first box, scroll down until you see the 'with specific words in the subject' option. Chech the box by this option so a tick appears in it, and it should enter the option automatically in the second box in the window.
In the second box on the window, click the 'specific words' link, and a new window will open up. In the 'Add new' box, type in '**SPAM**', and press 'Add', then press 'OK' to clost the window.
Press 'Next' on the window you are taken back to.
On the next window, place a tick by the option that reads 'move it to the specified folder' - this option should now appear in the second box in the window. In the text that has newly appeared in the second box, press the 'specified' link word in the text - a new window will appear.
On the new window, press the 'New' button - another window will appear.
In the 'Name' box of the new window, type in 'SPAM'. Make sure the 'Folder contains' option box reads 'Mail Items', and press 'OK' to close the window.
If you are asked if you would like to add a shortcut to the outlook bar, you can press 'No', but feel free to press 'Yes' if you would like the new spam folder to appear in your shortcut bar.
Press 'OK' to close the next window
Press 'Next' on the window you are taken back to.
Press 'Finish' to complete the filter setup.
You can now continue to use your email as usual, with a new folder called 'SPAM' in your folder listing where 'possible spam' messages will be filtered into.
