Virus scanning
Our service will scan incoming e-mails, including attachments, for all known viruses using an industry-leading Antivirus scanning engine. Mails that are found to contain viruses will be rejected, and where possible the original sender will receive a notification.
Note that, unlike many competitors, our systems work responsibly in line with industry best current practice to avoid, as far as possible, becoming part of the ever-growing problem of 'collateral damage', where false or misleading virus reports are sent to unrelated third parties due to forgery of headers by viruses.
Junk mail / spam scanning
We use multi-layer junk mail filtering solutions which intelligently combine results from many global blacklists and advanced content-based heuristic analysis to classify mail as valid or unwanted mail with an accuracy in excess of 99.9%. For mails that exceed certain criteria, they will be rejected outright. For cases where we believe the mail is unwanted but the evidence is less clear-cut, we will 'tag' the mails so that you can filter them into a separate folder within your e-mail software, and check it at your convenience.
